I once restored a 1971 Karman Ghia for a very rich old man. Took me about 8 weeks in a dealership setting. Came out very well and as a matter of fact, I still have his old windshield wiper transmission and motor somewhere around here. Nothing wrong with it, he just wanted new.

A pit bull?? An honest to God pit bull? Oh well, I guess out in the wilds of N.H. you need one. Good place for a hound.

I am a retired auto body repairman and I hated working on "bugs" especially when taking rusted fenders off, the bolts would always twist off and leave gaping holes in the rear body panels. And we never got paid to fix those. I am in this for the lonnnng ride. Good luck young man.

Thermal Reboot says:

I had a 1964, those levers in the back aren't for directing the heat, they're for shutting it off. If you had no rear passengers you could close those and direct all heat to the front. Also, in the front you should have sliding doors over the front heat vents to direct more heat towards the back. Later VWs had a control on the tunnel to manage those.
